Marinated and Sautéd to perfection. These saucy tibs will leave you licking your fingers to the last drop. A staple in Ethiopian Cuisine this meat dish is often eaten Injera or with rice. Sure to please all your taste pallets. Ingredients and Directions Below:

The Marinade:
– 2 pounds Beef Cubes
– 2 medium size tomatoes Diced
– 2 Medium sized Onions Diced
– 2 Ginger-Garlic Cubes ( link for that post is posted above )
– 2 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
– 1/2 tbls hawaj or spice mixtures
– 2 tbls berberé
– 1/2 Tbls salt
– Juice from 1/2 a lemon
– 1/4 cup oil

Cooking instructions:

1. Add Oil or melted Ethiopian butter to the hot pan
2. Add marinated meat
3. Cover and cook for 10-15 mins on medium-low. Checking and stirring occasionally.
4. Add chopped tomatoes, drizzle 1/4 cup water
5.Cover and simmer 7-10 minutes on medium-low. Checking and stirring occasionally.
6. Check meat for tenderness ( do a taste test or poke one piece of meat with a knife).
7. Once satisfied, toss in fresh rosemary and jalapeños.
8. Turn the heat off and enjoy it with Injera or whatever your heart desires.
