Ethiopian PM Abiy, Kenyatta agree to foster trade relations

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held talks which culminated with various bilateral agreements focusing on regional trade and security.

The new Ethiopian leader who arrived in the country on Sunday for a two-day state visit received full military honours including a 19 gun-salute at State House Nairobi.

Among the agreements reached by the two leaders include infrastructure development in the Lamu Port South Sudan Ethiopia- Lapsset project and the Northern corridor road and rail network connecting the two capitals, Nairobi and Addis ababa.

Other agreements included closer co-operation between national carriers Kenya Airways and Ethiopian Airlines, the Moyale joint city and Economic Zone Project.
